High Volume Production
LightWorks Optics’ business model has evolved into large-scale production
over the past decade.
To improve upon our volume production needs and cost effectiveness, we recently opened a new facility dedicated to high volume production (HVP).
This facility’s dedicated cellular manufacturing flexibility allows us to ramp product deliveries according to our customers’ product launch plans.
Our development-to-production model uses a staged process that begins in our Tustin operation, which houses our engineering and prototyping operations and performs initial design and product verification.
Once verification is complete and the production process has been refined and documented, the product is transitioned to our Vista HVP facility, where the dedicated manufacturing team ramps the product into mass production.
The goal of our Vista operation is to further refine the production processes and drive cost out of the product as volumes increase.
This cost and production focus accelerates timelines and reduces costs, helping us bring products to market faster and far more efficiently.
For example, our HVP operation recently ramped a custom flow cytometry (laser-based scatterometry) device from 10 per week to 50 per week in less than two months.
